3 Types of Athletes I Work With…

Here are the 3 types of athletes I help with mental toughness.

1)  Sheldon from Big Bang Theory- These athletes think way too much… They are prepared and are great practice players, but they can’t get out of their own head. As Crash Davis in Bull Durham said, “don’t think, it can only hurt the ball club.”

 

2)  Road Block Athletes- These athletes struggle with getting in their own way. It could have been a bad mistake, an injury, loss in confidence, or a bad coach, but something manages to get in their way. Often these athletes are also perfectionists and are frustrated because they can’t just let it go. They play it SAFE…

 

3)  Game Day Athletes- These athletes show up on game day, want to compete, and have that desire to put it on the line.  We all know them, because they are the best. However, what baffles coaches is their true potential. We have NO idea who will show up! These athletes are good at any level, but their preparation is what will help them reach the next level.
